After his debut in Club Atlético River Plate, El Pipita moves to Spain and arrives to Real Madrid, strongly wanted by Capello and Baldini, at that time, coach and general manager of the Blancos.

In the seven seasons played with the Galacticos, he scores 121 goals, he wins Liga for three times besides a Spanish Cup and two Spanish Super Cup, even if he never becomes one of the most successful stars of the team and does not win any international title.

His career continues in Italy, he arrives at SSC Napoli, team in which he plays 3 years, probably those in which he shows the best performances so far. After winning an Italian Cup, an Italian Super Cup and the Serie A Top Scorers title, in the summer of 2016 Higuaín moves to Juventus FC, with a fee of € 90 million, a deal that creates much polemics and criticism to the player for the rivalry that exists between the supporters of the two teams.

He stays at FC Juventus for two years, winning two Italian titles, but failing once again to win the Champions League, a dream broken in the final of Cardiff, against Real Madrid, his former team.

From this season, he plays in AC Milan, a team with which, however, has little chance of fighting for the victory of the Serie A League.

Technical Skills

Higuaín is one of the strongest strikers in the world, thanks to his great bodily power and his class, he is able to score many goals, in many different ways.

Great as header player, he is a forward with a powerful and precise shot, and he is two-footed player too.

Also, he has a good sprint and is able to help the team with cleverness, often participating in the construction of the game.

He has excellent technical skills and is capable to score impossible goals, even with acrobatic shots, as well as being an opportunist striker and having eye for goal, qualities that allow him to be lethal in the penalty area.

In this video you can admire all the 36 goals scored in the 2015/16 season, when he played in the SSC Napoli. Enjoy them!

Last Best Goal

In the current season, with his new team, AC Milan, El Pipita started very well, showing his quality and immediately becoming idol of the supporters.

This is the goal scored in the match played on September 23 against Atalanta, the Higuaín's first in the San Siro Stadium.

A beautiful assist by Suso for the fantastic struck volley of the Number #9.

  • The transfer of Higuaín from SSC Napoli to Juventus FC has created many protests against the player by Neapolitan supporters. He has always attributed responsibility of his leaving to the chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis. In a recent interview, Gonzalo reported that in the future he will definitively clarify the events, and also that he can't do it in this moment.
  • Higuaín revealed that Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima was his idol and that he was the best at everything. Also he said that the Brazilian is the only player he have tried to imitate, but that was really very difficult.
  • In the 2015/16 season, El Pipita was capable to score 36 goals in 35 played matches, beating the Serie A record of goals in a season. The previous record was of 35 goals and belonged to the Swedish Gunnar Nordahl, who had achieved it in the season 1949/50.
  • Despite all the goals scored and his magnificent numbers, he is considered to be not much brilliant and decisive in big matches and above all in the finals, after the deludent performances in the 2014 World Cup Final and in the 2015 and 2016 Copa América Finals. Same result for the UEFA Champions League final match lost 1-4 from Real Madrid in 2017.
