Tottenham and Manchester United joined Brentford and Manchester City in the EFL Cup Semi final providing us with a cracker tie.

Tottenham bounced back to winning ways as they made easy work of Championship side, Stoke City, all thanks to goals from Gareth Bale in the 22nd minute , Ben Davies in the 70th minute, and Harry Kane in the 81st minute. Stoke City, however, we're able to get a consolation goal of theirs through Thompson in the 53rd minute. I bet Jose Mourinho would be delighted to see his team get a win after 2 losses that put an end to their amazing run in all competitions.

Manchester United, on the other hand, continued their amazing display as they defeated a resilient Everton side for the 2nd time in a row at Goodison Park this season.

Although the red devils bossed the game from the beginning to the end, I bet they knew they would not be having it all their way coming against an in form side as Everton. They(Manchester United) continued to pile the pressure on Everton, and in the 88th, found a way to breach their defence through Edison Cavani. United kept the tempo on and found themselves 2 goals up as Anthony Martial reacted first to a parried Marcus Rashford*s effort, putting an end to any form of comeback Ancelotti's boys might be having in mind .

With the semi final scheduled to commence on January 4th, 2021, Tottenham will be going up against another Championship side, Brentford. This should be an easy one for Jose Mourinho's side. I bet they will be happy with the draw. The last time Tottenham got this far was In 2018 where they were eliminated by Chelsea on penalty shoot-out.

The cruncher game will be between Manchester United and Manchester City, both teams met last year in this same stage, with City coming out victorious on an aggregate 3:2 score. Both sides already faced off this season, but they were onlg able to manage a dull stalemate. We should be expecting a better contest in this match from both sidea if they keep their current overall momentum.

This year's EFL Cup semi final game will be played over one leg as opposed to its previous two legged games. This should be an added advantage for both Tottenham and Manchester United though, as they both will be the host for their respective games.

Feel free to drop your opinions and comments, they will be greatly appreciated.

Much Love.
