Ahmed Musa is a quintessential striker with instinct that makes him extremely lethal in front of goal. On top of that, his speed is so mesmerizing especially when the ball is laid ahead, other defenders struggle to catch up with his jet-like pace. He’s also dangerous in the air and can jump great heights despite his small size in appearance. But most importantly of all, he hardly misses chances whenever the opportunity presents itself.
The paced winger is the first Nigerian player to score twice in a FIFA World Cup match for the country, a feat he was able to achieve twice both in 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup. His uncanny ability to score goals at Club and international levels was responsible for prompting leceister City football club to purchase Musa in 2016 from CSKA Moscow, and no doubt the reason why other clubs are presently interested in Musa such as Galatasaray football club of Turkey and Al-Nassr football club of Saudi Arabia.
However, it was reported that Leicester city FC had made it categorically clear that it is not selling or loaning the player for any cheap price. This stance by the management of Leceister City FC is not unconnected with the players star performance in the just concluded FIFA World Cup.
Al-Nassr football club of Saudi Arabia had already bidded for the player for the sum £12 million on Sunday 22 July, 2018, But Leceister City FC declined the offer. It is obvious that the players recent star performance has increased his market value. The clubs body language appears to indicate that it is not willing to part with the player if the price for which other clubs are offering is not what it wants, Musa can as well continue to play for Leceister City FC.
The Nigerian player scored only 2 goals in his 21 appearances since joining the club from CSKA Moscow. However Musa has returned to his former club CSKA Moscow on loan in January this year where he continued his scoring successes. Also Musa scored 2 wonderful goals in the just concluded FIFA World Cup when Nigeria played against Iceland in the group stage matches. One of his goals is presently nominated by FIFA for the award of the best "goal of the tournament".
From all indications, Leceister City FC wants to sell off Musa at the price it bought him from CSKA Moscow or at least a price very close to that range. Musa's signing fee to Leceister City FC was believed to be the highest record signing. If his signing to the club has not paid off satisfactorily, at least the club should get her capital back.
Wishing Ahmed Musa the best in the coming season about to start soon, whether the outcome of the negotiations between Leceister City FC and other interested clubs becomes successful or not.
Thank you for stopping by.
