Egypt's star attacking midfield Mohamed Salah scored 32 goals in his debut season for Liverpool. With the 32 goals in 2017/18 season, he surpassed the Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Luis Suarez's 31 goals record in a single 38-match Premier League season and write his name on the record for highest number of goals in single Premier League season. Last season, Mo Salah scored 44 goals in 44 games for Liverpool. Salah scored 10 of them in the last season's Champions league to guide Liverpool into the final of Champions league after12 years but Liverpool failed to beat the Real Madrid in the Final at Kiev and lost the match by 3-1. This season, Salah already scored the 12 goals from 19 games and is the current joint second-leading goal scorer behind Arsenal Emerick Aubameyang in the Premier League season 2018/19.

Kepa Arrizbalaga

In last July, Kepa completed his moves from Athletic Bilbao to the London club Chelsea. He became the most expensive goalkeeper in the world after completing his move to Chelsea. After 2018 FIFA World Cup golden glove winner Courtois decided to leave the club in summer, the 23-year-old keeper was brought to Chelsea in a record fee of massive £71 million pound which was nearly £4 million more than previous record holder Liverpool's Alison price. Chelsea new manager Maurizio Sarri sets the new record for keeping the longest unbeaten run in the Premier League, as a newly appointed manager in the Premier League. He sets the record after being unbeaten in first 12 Premier League games as a new manager. After playing goalless draw at home against Everton in game week 12, he overtook Frank Clark’s 24-year-old 11 games unbeaten record and wrote his name on the record. Chelsea's unbeaten run was stopped by Tottenham at Wembley stadium in GW13.

A new Christmas record

In the year when most of the record was broken, another new record was set at end of the year. First time in the Premier League history, three teams have managed to cross the 40 plus points before Christmas. Liverpool(48 points), Manchester City(44 points ), and Tottenham (42 points) all have crossed the 40 plus points before Christmas in 2018/19 to set this new record.

Liverpool is currently at top of the table with 6 points above the second place Tottenham. Liverpool has already kept 12 clean sheets in 19 matches and conceded only 7 goals this season.
