In continuation of my post in honor of Africa and Chelsea legend Didie Drogba, I will take a look at Drogba's wonderful performance against Chelsea opponent in today’s premier league match way back in the year 2006 with center referee M. Halsey (Lancashire) in charge. In a match that saw young Jose Mourinho close Ferguson to within two points on the log, Didie Drogba was the talking point.

Everton started the match very well which saw Victor Anichebe made his debut at the rightful age of 18 years under the manager David Moyers when he pulled a surprise by given Everton the lead when Boulahrouz brought him down right inside the penalty box and the referee wasted no time in pointed at the spot. Arteta took the penalty sending our keeper; Hilarious the wrong way when he made the score line 1-0 before the break.

After the resumption of play, Michael Ballack took very powerful free kick which deflected into the Everton net for an equalizer. Moments later, Joseph Yobo put Everton on the diver seat once again from a superb header from Mikel Arteta’s cross at the 80th minute. Everton where cruising to victory when super Frank Lampard took the keeper unawares with his dipping shot from 20 yards to the back of the net four minutes to go. It was a heart breaking winning goal.

Everton fought back for an equalizer, pressing Chelsea up the pitch but the game was put out of their reach when Didie Drogba received substitutes Andrie Shevchenko flick to smash an unbelievable 30-yards- volley passed keeper Tim Harword who had left his line to make the match end in 4- defeat for the visitors. Didie Drogba was named man of the match due to his magical goal.
