Lately, Manchester United directors have held meetings with Edison Cavani. This is in a bid to keep the Uruguayan man for an additional year.
Reasons for the move by United directors
Cavani has been disappointed with the treatment given to him by the English FA.
In a post he made some time ago, Cavani used the term “Negrito”. As a result, he was fined 100,000 euros and given a 3 match outlaw.
Sometime later, he made clear statements of how dissatisfied he was at Manchester. Hence the move from United directors.

On in his part, United Manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has insisted that he would desire Cavani to remain at Old Trafford.
Despite a seeming appealing environment at the club, the ultimate decision rests on the shoulders of Cavani.
Conclusion
It is obvious Manchester United have made signing a striker top priority this season. Edison Cavani possibly is aware of that too. This could be a huge hindrance to Cavani signing the contract.
