It is no news that Manchester United enjoyed an awesome 2020/2021 season. So much so that they finished ahead of rivals Liverpool FC.
However, even after such a display, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that the Red Devils are currently not on the level of the Jurgen Klopp-led side.
Liverpool and Manchester United face-up
The two sides would be up against each other come Sunday at the theatre of dreams. On his part, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to be under pressure from the fans at Manchester United supporters.
This proved to be the case after the Old Trafford giants slumped to a few silly defeats on the road. With one almost coming against Atlanta in the Champions League.
No doubt, Ole would be desperate to seal a win against their bitter rivals Liverpool.
Solskjaer gives his verdict
Speaking to the media during lunchtime this morning, the Manchester United manager made it clear that his side lookup to Liverpool as those they intend to play like.
When asked about being ahead of the Jurgen Klopp-led side last season, Solskjaer explained that it was simply a case of injuries and lack of fortune for the Liverpool side. As opposed to sheer brilliance from Manchester United.
Conclusion
As was aforementioned at the outset of this article, Ole would be making it a priority to get one ahead of Liverpool come Sunday.
This is the case as anything less than a win would put Ole's job hanging on the balance once again.
