Timo Werner and Kai Havertz who joined Chelsea in the summer transfer window have been struggling to build on their previous club form which has left many Chelsea fans and football fans in general, questioning their move to Stamford Bridge. A fan once throws a dig at the club saying it would have been better if they have invested Havertz money on Bitcoin.
Timo Werner who started the season well with the club with some impressive run and some great assists has last found the back of the net in his last 12 matches before scoring yesterday while Havertz who has been struggling with his form since recovering from Coronavirus was also on the score sheet yesterday in a 4-0 win against Morecambe in the FA Cup.
The club manager Frank Lampard has went ahead to defend the duo after yesterday game telling their doubters to give them time, according to the manager, the club sign the players for the present and the future. To him, he believes the two players will be a great addition to the squad with time because the league is very much complicated and the transition is not something that comes very easy.
Havertz joined Chelsea from Bayern Leverkusen for a fee of around £75m and much is expected from him, he was identified as a player who can provide a link between the Midfield and the attack with his creative play. His 18 goals and 9 assists in 45 appearances for Leverkusen in the 2019/2020 season is enough to convince any club for his services while Timo Werner on the other side had a great season with Leipzig in 2019/2020, scoring a total of 34 goals in 45 appearances with 13 assists
