Since Valverde became Barca manager. He has no defined collective playing style as Barcelona had under Guardiola or Enrique. Everything in Barcelona literally goes through Messi. He creates chances, assists, scores goals, creates the play from midfield and etc. Every match Valverde puts Messi on the bench, Barcelona struggle, even against Villareal, placed in 17th he ends up substituting him, because of the team struggles.

There is so much potential in the team, but Valverde's tactical shortcomings and dependence on Messi destroy it. Against bigger teams like Man City, Juventus or Liverpool, he will be exposed. Tiki-taka would be the best way to go. Umtiti was so poor last night. It could've been way worse if Ter Stegen didn't make those saves. What happened to tiki-taka? Man City is now playing more like Barcelona than Barcelona.

I know they don't have Xavi, Iniesta that's a huge loss, but still. He has used over €300 M, including 160M€ on Coutinho who is not even worth half of that money. Just look at how Man City is playing right now, it's like seeing Barca from 2011 again. Villarreal real should not be judged on their table position. They are in quarterfinals of Europa league and have a mid-table squad. They were also very motivated because they were close to the relegation zone, but still, I hope Valverde steps up against Atletico and especially against United and Liverpool if they go to the semis.

The game was insane though. Barca gonna give fans a heart attack one of these days Messi is the best freekick taker. That Suarez strike first time was clinical. Malcolm needs to play more. Coutinho was better than the last few games. Almost scored a chipped goal too but hit the post. He was decent, still nothing special from him.
