Here is how serious clubs who actually win something are doing business. They appoint serious director of football, decide with him what type of football and formation they would like to play, then bring coach who is playing that style and then start backing him by signing players he wants who can answer tactical tasks in that formation and style of play. They usually can't bring every player they need or want in one transfer window, rebuilding needs time like 3-4 transfer windows. Manager also need time to implement his vision and style of football. If he made couple of bad results or team don't perform well in some games that should not trigger anger and rush reactions like sacking manager, but trust in process and harder work on training.

If you are serious club and you want player X you go and get him and make a deal in timely manner and not drag negotiations for months. If other side come up with non realistic price you go to another target. If you are serious club you are not buying players behind manager's back. I am aware we are not exactly Liverpool, Manchester United, City or Chelsea, but those can't buy every excellent player on market.

Serious managers on the other side find right position for every player and take maximum from them, train them important things, but not over training them. They also should be able to adjust themselves if things are not going their way in some games. Adjust in terms to adjust tactics to beat the opponent by giving smart advises to players during the game or to change something which can beat and finish opponent.

If you are serious club you have serious academy. One local football legend told once "If my academy can't give me one or two players for first team every year why am I paying it ? I will rather take that money go to market and buy end product."

If you are serious club you have serious scouts who can spot on good players before others, who can evaluate if they can or can't adjust to high demands of Premier League, explore player characters and personality and not only physicality and skill.

Serious clubs don't allow non sport influence on players no matter what source is. Sources can be various like non sport life outside pitch and training ground, family problems, love problems, high under the table money offers by other clubs, betting houses, alcoholism and things like that. Serious clubs identify such problems on time and remove players with problems from first team. That's why Sir Alex was so successful. He was policeman too. He knew if any player did non sport things before the game.

Serious clubs are in state of alert when they lose, in state of emergency if they are losing games in a row and do their best to turn luck around and return to winning ways.In serious clubs when you make first Sunday league error you get warning, if second comes in short period of time you might be fined on some way like losing place in squad and if it happens third time they just tell you "We're not doing things like that here, this is not club for you" and drop you to development squad until you're sold...

In the past serious players were to ashamed to show up on the street a part from training after losing tje game until they return to winning ways. It's not like that any more, but I wouldn't run and picture myself like model after I lost with 3 goals margin against some average club or derby game. Losing is not consider normal, losing should cause anger, wish to make things right in next game, hard analyse why it happened, maybe hard words too etc...

If you are serious club who want to win trophies you stick to plan and personal in good and in bad times. You give coach 3 year time to implement vision and trust in process. If he can't or don't want to continue after year or two you bring another coach with same type of football and formation so you can actually use players you already bought in rebuild and continue with plan without much problems. If you failed and don't win trophy after 5 years then you change plan, director, type of football, coach and start executing other plan and do rebuild. You're not doing rebuilds from zero every year. If you fail for 10-15 years (2-3 plans) you then resign like chairman because your plans obviously didn't work.

Is Tottenham serious club ? Are ENIC and Daniel Levy serious owners ? I hope they will become. People can change, deserve chances... Serious infrastructure, stadium, football director, coach and staff, some very very good players in squad, but a lot of place for improvement in squad, plenty of non sport influence on some players from somewhere. To much tolerance toward those who made Sunday league or serius tactical errors to often.

So trust in process, stick to current coach, staff and football director, back coach, cut source of non sport influence and trophies will come maybe even this season because Man United or City are not invincible. It's time to show we are changing toward serious club Tottenham were once under Bill Nicholson. Good way to prove that would be to win next game against Chelsea, game which we usually not win. Let's show we changed and became better! COYS!
