Dele Alli is confirmed to be absent when the England national team plays a Swiss counter test match on Tuesday (12/09/2018). The Tottenham Hotspur player suffered a muscle injury.

The injury was experienced by Alli when the England national team defeated 1-2 from Spain in the inaugural match of the UEFA Group 4 League 4 at Wembley Stadium, London, September 8, 2018. However, he could still play for 90 minutes.

Reporting from the official England national Twitter team, Alli has been returned to Tottenham. However, Gareth Southgate's team will not call on other players to replace the 22-year-old player.

"Dele Alli has withdrawn from the squad with a minor muscle injury on Saturday," the statement of the English Football Association (FA) said.

Alli's injury opened the chance for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek to play as a starter against Switzerland. Loftus-Cheek only sat on the bench during the England national team match against Spain.
