Do they deserve their place in the finals?

More than anyone can imagine, Manchester City very much deserves their place in the finals. It has been a gradual build-up for a very long time with the struggle to be named one of the top Europe's formidable teams. However, it has not been green for them especially in the last season's game where they fall 3:1 behind Lyon in the one-off game.

Pep Guardiola's men have continued to show impressive display and gradually coming closer to achieving a milestone Champions League title. Now they are eventually one step away from been crown the champions of Europe.

Man City has come a long way in defeating formidable sides Like Burrussa Dortmund and the underdog PSG to reach the finals. Paris Saint-German started the first leg with an impressive display in the first half of the game. They

lead by 1:0 against Manchester City. However, things got twisted in the second half as Man city gain full control of the game and push PSG into defense, something they were flawed in doing.

Their weakness was exploited by the English side and they were duly punished by Riyal Mahrez who find the back of the net with a freekick giving Man City a crucial away win.

PSG problem got compounded as key forward Mbappe was confined to the bench as a result of injury. Neymar was subdued and Guardiola's men mount pressure on the visitors in the second leg of the game at the Etihad Stadium. Mahrez then scored an important goal in the 11th minute to help City extend their lead by 3 goals to 1 on aggregate.

As though that was not enough, Mahrez still converted Foden's cross to seal their undisputable win and stamp their name on the finalist teams.

Without a doubt, the outcome of the game was purely a case of teamwork and shared determination. We watched as the team put in efforts seasons after seasons. Growing silently and quietly stamping their name among the top teams. Today, their dream goal is gradually been fulfilled.

Man City will be facing either Chelsea or Real Madrid in the finals on the 29th of May, 2021. With eyes on the trophy, level of play, and performance, Guardiola's boys are ready to take out any team that emerges to face them.

This is an incredible accomplishment for Man City and Pep Guardiola. I say congratulations to them.

The question ahead remains whether they will lift the trophy or not. Time will tell.
