The 2019 FIFA the best awards saw Leo Messi crowned the best player in the world.

Liverpool's Van Dijk came second and Cristiano Ronaldo a close third.

That is up for debate as many believe Van Dijk should be the winner. The Dutch man was phenomenal for Liverpool last season and was part of a backline that conceded 22 goals in the 2018/2019 EPL season. He won the Uefa Men's player award and was one of the favourites to land the FIFA the best. Unfortunately, the voters thought otherwise and voted Messi. This is a clear indication that goals was the main criteria. Well, that is normal with FIFA as this is not the first time they are doing that. They did it for Sneijder and now Van Dijk.

The FIFPRO World XI is the most debatable one.

Alisson Becker, Sergio Ramos, Van Dijk, De Ligt, Marcelo, Frenkie De Jong, Modric, Hazard, Messi, Mbappe, and Cristiano Ronaldo all made the list.

It's really shocking that Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, and Modric made the list. They were shit last season. None of them deserved that list. 3rd place finish in the league with 68 points which is the lowest they've had since their 66 points haul in the 2001/2002 season under Vincente Del Bosque. Marcelo was benched for most part of the season with Reguilon starting. It was after Zidane re-appointment that he finally reclaim his spot in the first eleven. Injury came and he couldn't make the Brazil Copa America squad.

The same goes for Luka Modric who couldn't replicate his World cup performance. Sergio Ramos was his usual self with the red cards and couldn't prevent Madrid from conceding enough goals to label Courtois an expensive Basket.

Manchester city won the treble last season with some standout players. Bernado Silva and Sterling were instrumental to Manchester city clean domestic sweep last season. They didn't stop there as they carried their form to the national team. Bernado Silva was the tournament best player in the first ever Nations League and Sterling also instrumental to their third place finish.

Liverpool's Arnold and Robertson will be sad for not making the list too. They were the best full backs in the world last season. If Salah, Mane, and Firmino fail to do the damage, you can be sure of either Arnold or Robertson to inflict the damage.

They were like wingers last season and got double figures in assists. What else do you want?

The awards is becoming shit and I think it should be scrapped.
