What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the Anthony Davis trade Saga and the rumors that the Lakers are making a strong case in the trade. Let's start!
The Anthony Davis trade saga is in its climax as free agency is on its way. According to reports, Anthony Davis will not sign a multi-year deal with teams other than the Los Angeles Lakers. It means that whichever team that trades for him other than the Lakers will be just a one-year rental. Now, the Lakers are leading the run for AD and they are really making a strong case.
And the latest from the Lakers are, they made the No. 4 overall pick together with Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball available in trade talks for AD. That was according to Hoops Central. The Boston Celtics and the Lakers are the two teams that are aggressively making a run to pursue Davis but it looks like the Celtics are out of the conversation now. Maybe it's all over now for the Celtics as Davis clearly wants to be a Laker.
The New Orleans Pelicans would surely want more other than Zo, BI and the No. 4 pick. But, the Lakers are trying to hold on to their rising star forward Kyle Kuzma. That would be tough for the Lakers as the Pelicans wanted Kuzma to be included in the deal. Kuzma can be the dealbreaker but if the Lakers really want to contend next season, they can go for it and take the risk.
I think that if the Lakers include Kuzma in the deal that would be too much for them to lose. They are not sure if Davis will have a healthy year and that's a huge risk. The Pelicans would be in a great position to prepare for their future if this trade happens while the Lakers will try to start a championship run pairing AD with LeBron.
