Introduction

This presentation is partially taken from what I wrote on Steemit a few months ago, so it may be repetitive for the few of you who already knew me. However, I am Maurizio, 29 years old from Naples, southern Italy. Since I was 23, I have been expatriate to find new stimuli, emotions, and experiences. After several years between Tenerife, London and Ibiza, I now settled in Barcelona, which seems to be the city that best suits me for opportunities, climate, and mentality. I must be grateful to this city because it is here that I met the girl of whom today I am in love and I live happily, also on Scorum: @sarahmadd.

I'm a former semi-professional poker player, I say semi because I've never had the consistency to make it a real job. I believe that poker is a skill game, but the random component in the game exists and not being able to control things destabilizes me a bit.

I lived with this "job" for about 5-6 years with good earnings in hot periods. I think I have a good/excellent technical and mathematical knowledge of my game (sit and go), but a lack of mindset in the management of the 'normal' periods of the downswing, that is a quite serious problem. I am attaching a picture of my progress in tournaments so far:

No that's a joke, this is not me but Moorman, one of the best poker player in the world. I managed to make that 2-3k Eur per month with sit and go for many years thanks to the consistent rakeback offers of italian websites such as lottomatica, titanpoker, partypoker etc. (100%+). In any case, the passion is not completely finished and in fact, sometimes I start to play tournaments for fun and I do it in streaming to share with friends (old and new) these evenings.

After years of poker, I reached a level of mental stress due to the poor mindset and being for 10/12 + hours a day near a computer that I was completely rejected by the game and that lifestyle. Having never studied as a child because I was stupid, serious error (!!) and not accepting the poor conditions of a 'normal' jobs in my hometown Naples, I decided to leave and emigrate abroad. So I made three/four years of experience between Tenerife, London, Ibiza and now Barcelona doing the most disparate jobs: from the courier to waiter, from McDonalds to barista, even touching the experience of security in one of the coolest clubs in Ibiza, the Cotton Beach.

As mentioned before it seems that I finally reached the city of dreams where to live: Barcelona. Here there is the sun and the Napoli-style climate: cold winter for a month or two at most, a few rainy days and a long and hot summer with the sea just steps away. I like the city because there is always nightlife, there are meet-ups every day for any interest or hobby you have and I see many job opportunities. Finally, it is the city where I met Sarah, who is the most beautiful and intelligent woman I have ever met and who I managed with my sex appeal, intelligence, money (no, nothing I still don't know how I made it) to conquer.

Our last vacation in august in menorca

I spent my free time, among other things, surfing on the internet and that's how I discovered the world of Bitcoin, decentralization, power to the people and cryptocurrencies. I was immediately entranced, a new energy pervaded every inch of my body every time I understood something more of this world. The market behind the users' data on the internet was completely unknown to me. The fact that giants like Google or Facebook have made billions doing what the hell they wanted with our data and for their own interest made me think a lot. Decentralization seems to be a positive and disruptive response that practically brings benefits to all the people who feed and believe in this system but harms the interests of these centralized giants.

So I decided to study and be not only a spectator of this revolution but also a participative user. So I started to study technology. Then I decided to invest in ICO, to analyze ICO and I have posted my research in a small private group. Thanks to my research my friends on Telegram have avoided investing in a project where if you would have invested € 17,000 in ICO today you would have € 300 (Vestarin) and we made a good profit together with ICO interesting and performing as Matrix AI network, Lympo or Elastos.

Why am I so bullish on Scorum?

I started my journey on Scorum not in the most correct way doing contests that were more profitable for me than for the community, it cost me time to change and understand that I can get a lot more from Scorum and from the community by giving it.

I decided to dedicate time, effort and money to Scorum for three reasons: Business-model, token metrics, and people.

  • Business model: This type of platforms that have internal tokens and pay their users to make content work. We look at Steemit before his fall: 1.5 billion market cap (obviously coinciding with the ath of all the crypto I know and I keep it in mind); 1 million+ registered users; 100K+ active users; number 1 in transactions on the blockchain. Scorum compared to steemit, has the enormous advantage of addressing a specific niche (and What a niche [!!]: sport, billion of enthusiasts all over the world), has a team attentive to the needs of the community and in addition to the blog platform that could already be a billion-dollar-app, they have another product that can be disruptive, the betting exchange that at first glance has nice graphics but above all it is fast and has 0 commissions: if all the bettors of the world did you knew it, do you think they would continue to bet on these bookmakers that with their vig decrease their potential winnings?
  • Token metrics: We have 30 million tokens already mined and which will never increase over time. Do you realize how scarcity was a crucial factor in the huge explosion of Bitcoin? The fact of having to tie the tokens to the platform to do the Power Up and be able to untie them only after a year gives stability to the price of the token as the so-called staking that takes place on other platforms. Not being able to "touch" and then sell their tokens instantly for most of the circulating tokens (20 Million SP vs 10 Million SCR) seems at first impact a huge disadvantage, but if we see it in the long run optics?
  • People: Last point but perhaps the most important one. We have a community that can envy even the most giants out there. Hundreds of people who daily make articles to promote the platform, to index it on search engines, to help new users and to create entertaining and engaging content. I'm going to mention some of you of which I'm very happy that they are on Scorum (of course I will not mention all of them, but know that we are all or almost doing a great job):
  1. SBC Team (@stimp1024, @btb, @costanza, @fullcoverbetting, and @aceladis doing a great job: in addition to organizing consistent giveaways, do you realize how important it is to have people who publish bets every day with a patient consistency in a sports platform and betting like ours? To see their constancy have a look at their profiles on sSteemit - they have same nicknames - and get an idea!
  2. SPL - BRO and Their Discord Channel. @Tuck-Fheman has created on Steemit a community of poker enthusiasts who are transposing on Scorum. Thanks to @ilbirraioOo (Italian pride) have developed a poker software where you can play poker, currently, without having to pay any rake and offering daily, weekly and monthly freerolls of their own pocket.
  3. Individual users that I believe bring so much daily to Scorum: @mikey, I believe that it is a user from which to take inspiration, his posts are qualitatively and visually of the highest quality, always. He writes clearly and makes many posts to help newbie, as well as spending a lot of time on the platform. Also, I do not know if you knew it, participated in a very interesting TEDx Talk that will not spoil you but I will link you; @philnewton and his live blogging team. Despite me and phil we had a difficult start, one of his posts after the victory of my Napoli against his Liverpool made me angry and I flagged his post at random (I apologized later), I think he is doing a great job and their live blog format is super interesting and engaging; @talesfrmthecrypt I think it's the best in the world to do his job: the sheriff of Scorum; @canan and @ufuk with their store with SCR as currency; @jodcarey for his game and his tennis post. And many, many, many of you
  4. The various discord channels that do curation and I'm talking about scorum-fans, golden thunder and the various Spanish channels.
  5. Last but not least, my community on Discord CryptoResistance, has created a very strong community, especially in the Italian side with daily content and great workmanship thanks to the various @voiceoff, @frafiomatale, @girolamolamarotta, @giornalista, @spiceboyz and @dexpartacus.

My candidacy to be a Scorum Witness

If you have come to read up to this point, you will agree with the fact that I have already said a lot about myself and Scorum and you are very brave and I have to thank you for your time. I am at the last step to set up an alternative account and run a node and validate block for Scorum. I'd like to be a Scorum Witness. Remember that to be a witness you have to be at least in the top 20, which means having at least 400,000 votes but we are aiming for the top 10 so we want to reach at least 600,000 votes and we can only do it with your help. I will give you more updates soon, when everything will be up I'll need all of your support!

My Scorum Marketing Plan

This is the part of the post where I enjoy to write most! I want to share with you what I'm doing for Scorum, what I can do, my plans and my ideas. Let's start immediately with my marketing ideas:

Word of mouth

Word of mouth is often underestimated but in my opinion, it is still today one of the most important and effective tools in advertising. I try to make word of mouth online and offline, with people who understand blockchain or not. It is through word of mouth that I managed to convince my girlfriend Sarah to sign up for Scorum and start writing, she had never written an online article in her life and in fact had some difficulties but despite the difficulties of having to write in a language foreigner with tools she had no idea and subjects she did not know much about, she started to do articles and slowly she is always better understanding the potentialities of Scorum, blockchain and everything else. I really appreciate it. Through word of mouth, this time online, I managed to have Girolamo La Marotta enrolled and wrapped up in the experience of Scorum, who did a huge job, especially in the two months when I had abandoned Scorum.

Instagram Marketing

I created an Instagram account to advertise Scorum and set up a bot to do it. What does this bot do? It follows about 1000 people a day (the follow-back rate is about 10%) to be followed by 100 people a day; after 5 days, the people we have followed are unfollowed automatically; they are all targeted people, the bot goes to follow people who have interests with sport and blockchain through hashtags and profiles that they follow; the bot gives these people about 1,500 likes a day, the bot repost some of the best content from other profiles. Everything is always sports-related.

In a week the bot has about 800 followers (and 3000 following but will be removed slowly) and about 6-7% of engagement by these followers (ie likes, comments, visions to stories).

The goal is to reach about 10,000 followers and then manually publish some of the best content posted on Scorum manually. You can follow us on Instagram: scorumcurator.

Steemit Marketing

Girolamo is one of the key men of a very important Italian community on Steemit. They have many people who publish daily material and are very close-knit. This community is made up of lots of bloggers and Girolamo is doing a huge job to get them to come on Scorum. For my part, I will provide to boost posts on Scorum through the bots to make them stay on the home page trending for at least one or two days. The contents that I will publish there will be mine or some post from my last contest: Write a Sensational Post About Scorum and Win 100 SCR!

Other Social Network Marketing

I will show Scorum also on Facebook and Minds. On Facebook, I have two accounts: one personal and one for when I played poker (and I was writing for a poker portal). In the poker account, I have about 2000 people among the best Italian poker players. I will use the personal account to write about Scorum on the best Italian blockchain sites, which already have hundreds of thousands of members, and on other pages/groups on football. Minds is a social network on the blockchain, a sort of hybrid between Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter on blockchain with the ability to use their tokens to boost views. Also on this social, I will use token to give views to Scorum.

Meet-up Barcelona

Barcelona is one of the best cities in Europe to live in if we talk about technology and innovation. Already three Universities have advanced courses on Blockchain here. On the Meet-Up App there is already about one meet-up per day on the blockchain. I will try to go at least 3-4 meetups a month and spread the word of Scorum.

Partnership with Lympo

Lympo is a data sports tracking platform that tends to reward its users with tokens that can be spent in their shop or exchanged on various exchanges. I have worked with them for several months and I can not promise you anything. But I am working every day to have their support and a partnership between them and Scorum. What could a partnership with Lympo bring? Remember that they are listed and have good contacts with exchanges such as Gate.io, BitFinex, Kucoin, and Huobi. Furthermore, Lympo is backed by Tony G, a very good entrepreneur with connections all over the world, like the partnership they have with Marc Cuban and NBA Mavs.

Interviews

Doing interviews is one of the best ways to get word of mouth in my opinion. People like to be interviewed and tend to post their interviews in their circles by guaranteeing the post where their interview is published. Do you know that small but pleasant feeling that some of you had being named in this post? Obviously that was not the intention when I named you, but it's to make you understand what you have to aim for: interviewing people who are influential in certain fields, Scorum talks about sports so besides the players almost always unreachable we can focus on minor sports champions and try to contact them through various social networks to interview them. This is what I will do. Interviews with sports influencers, blockchain, champions and people behind the scenes.

My own website

I am creating a site in Italian for cryptocurrencies analysis, in-depth analysis of the market, analysis of new projects, new scam projects and much more. It 'another project that excites me a lot and over time I will do a great job I'm sure. I will update you when everything is ready, as I am filling it with content, but it will be perfect and Scorum will have a prominent place at that site. Stay tuned!

I want to finish this immense article saying a huge thank you to all of you who have read to me so far, to the developers of Scorum who created this wonderful platform, to the community, to the Italian community and to Sarah that supports and supports me every day (I was 4 hours to write this article, she wants to kill me)
