Here we are then with the results of the 2nd Helping Hand contest.

I felt that the initial request for nominations, the blogs that were produced and the support they were given by various members of the community was a success. However, as you can see from the results below, this 2nd round of nominations has blown that 1st round out of the water! The top 4 bloggers in terms of engagement during this 2 week period would all have won the inaugural contest which shows just how competitive the situation has been. I was somewhat disappointed that we didn't have more nominations of individual users so that I could have grown the prize fund in the manner I described in my previous post, however, given that the top 4 are all such awesome contributors to the platform then I've decided to add a 3rd runner-up spot (a 4th place if you will) who will also receive the same prize as 2nd & 3rd.

The winner - @battleaxe, nominated by @swolesome.

A new user to Scorum but an old hand when it comes to blockchain and blogging, @battleaxe's intro post essentially coincided with the start of the 2nd round of the helping hand and she has ridden the wave of the warm welcome that she received all the way to victory! In fact, let's keep the sailing analogies coming and to do so I will steal a couple of lines from a post of her's that was made over the Thanksgiving holiday

This is essentially a much more poetic way of espousing the ideas that I initially put out when I launched the initiative about a month ago and it is great news that we are attracting more users who genuinely hold the idea of community at the heart of the actions that they take on the platform.

In regards content, @battleaxe's posts to date are generally around female wrestling and martial arts but I get the feeling that we will see a huge variety of sports and activities covered in the weeks and months to come, definitely worth a follow and some support.

2nd Place - @Mr-Sarriball nominated by @girolamomarotto

Many of us who are active on the various telegram and discord channels that are running in the background to the main platform will know Mr-Sarriball. He is everywhere and is a great example of how self-promotion (in a positive way) and making contacts on Scorum is a key to success. As the name suggests, you can find a lot of football (soccer) related posts on his blog but he's also a big fan of writing for several of the curation competitions that you can find on the platform. On a personal level I very much enjoyed reading his latest Moanday post - sorry man had to be done ;-)

Mr-Sarriball is not satisfied with Sarri ball source

3rd place - @fraste nominated by @izge

He has very quickly established himself as one of the most engaging writers on the platform. I don't think it matters what the subject is or even whether you have a particular affiliation with the sport that is being written about when it is presented in the entertaining manner that @fraste manages to achieve on all his pieces. Again the variety of topics being covered is truly spectacular and he appears to be throwing himself into the world of crypto and sports betting with gusto. That Scorum is offering a gateway for new users into the world of crypto is good news for all of us!

4th place - @ablaze nominated by @hassan

In 4th place and just 1 comment behind fraste it just seemed unfair to leave @ablaze out of the mentions as he is another relatively new user who has taken Scorum by storm! You don't really need me to tell you how he's done it because he has written a very detailed post about his rise from minnow to pro which as well as serving as a great guide for new users is a really nice reflective piece about his time on the platform to date. Again, very much worth a follow as he mixes sporting knowledge with his dry Irish wit to excellent effect.

Round 3

Nominations are now open for round 3. The same rules apply as before! Any questions please let me know.

The prizes will also remain the same as they were in round 2 which includes the possibility of the 2nd & 3rd place prizes rising dependent upon the number of nominations received.

New prize - Best Individual Blog (5 SCR)

This new prize will be a little different from the other prizes which are all determined by the number of unique and genuine comments left on a users blogs. In this case, I will be picking 1 individual blog that I think is worthy of more attention from the community as a whole. Part of the reason for this is to ensure that even those bloggers who aren't able to post multiple times a week but are still producing top notch work are also given a chance at greater recognition for their efforts.
