Zinedine Zidane tags rumours of Real Madrid being banished from the Uefa Champions League as ‘Ridiculous’

Head coach of Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane has tagged the probability of Real Madrid being banished from the champions league, as ‘ridiculous'.

In his statement, Zidane made it clear that Real Madrid has worked hard to get to this stage. Moving on, he insisted that expulsion to them by Uefa would be an extremely ridiculous decision.

Rumours making the rounds

Some rumours making the rounds have suggested that Real Madrid could be expelled from the Uefa Champions League.

These expulsion rumours are coming after Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, pushed for the establishment of the Europa Super League (ESL).

Since the ESL is seen as a rebel establishment, chatters have it that Uefa plans to discipline clubs who took part in it.

These reports suggest that Real Madrid, who were heads of the establishment, are prone to greater disciplines.

Statements from UEFA

In line with existing rumours, Uefa has stated its stand on clubs that have ‘rebelled' against their rules.

In the statement, Uefa made clear that these clubs would not receive a sporting penalty.

Real Madrid President: Florentino Perez

If these statements of Uefa are anything to go by, then Real Madrid and their compatriots would retain their places in the champions league.

Recent announcements, suggesting that the ‘rebel’ clubs would take no sporting penalty is indeed a relief. This is so because awful punishments could have been given to these teams as well.

Punishments may have even got to the point of banishment from next season champions league. However, according to Uefa, that would not be the case.

Conclusion

Uefa's declaration that no sporting penalties would be given, does not mean that no penalties would be given at all.

Bearing that in mind, we keep our fingers crossed, to see what more sanctions would be given to these teams.
