Barcelona and Chelsea will face each other at Saitama Stadium, Japan on the 23rd of July in a preseason friendly. Both teams will be without most of their star players and it will be a great opportunity for many players to showcase their mettle. Preseason is usually to test how the new players fit in the squad and it is also for players who haven't had many opportunities in the past.

CHELSEA

Chelsea have played three preseason matches so far and it will be their fourth but for the first time, they will face a familiar opponent. In the past five matches, they have won three, lost one and the other one has resulted in a draw. A lot of their players are out due to sickness and a few of them are resting but they still have a very decent side.

There are a few players to watch out for in this friendly which include Mason Mount, Michy Batshuayi and the defenders - David Luiz and Azpilicueta.

BARCELONA

This will be Barcelona's first preseason match and their recent form doesn't look good at all. They have won just one of their last five matches and most of their big players are absent. But they have Antoine Griezmann up their ranks.

It might be a little early to say that he will be a key player in the friendly but it's never too early for a player of his caliber to make an impact straight away. Jordi Alba is another great player to watch out for.

I believe that Chelsea will have a little edge over Barcelona given the fact that Chelsea has already played three preseason matches and are in a much better form than their rivals.
