All the races in which I participated had a certain distance (5 km, 10 km, 10 miles, 21 km, 30 km, 42 km). However, there are many other interesting formats for running: running time (1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours and 48 hours) and obstacle racing. That same year, I decided to experiment for a while and take part in a so-called run. I learned about the organization of such events last year and was very pleased to participate in such an event. I decided to start with a one-hour race and a Lava Big race.

Registration

Registration for the race took place at vseprobegi.org, where you could also find out about the race itself.

Run

I arrived in Poltava in the morning on the day of the race, and immediately left the bus station to the starting point, which was located in the territory of the local carding station "Ltava". This is no longer the first race at a similar location: the first in 2018 was the Peter and Paul Half Marathon on the territory of the Chaika motorway in Kyiv. Approaching it from a distance, one small fact can be noticed: this object has not been financed for a long time and is a little neglected. But it is optimistic that this site has lived up to our time and has not become a new LCD or shopping mall (a little distracted from the main topic) and it tries to work a little.

I got to the starting point too early, because it was just starting to unfold: put up tents, mount the stage and mark the track. It was cool to watch what usually goes on behind the scenes for race participants.

After picking up their starter pack, which included a starter number, a chip, water and a delicious cookie, preparation for the start began. Before the start of the main race, the participants gathered for a warm-up and a children's start, after which the adults started. The track "Ltava Run Racing" was an asphalt circle one kilometer long, at the end of which was located the hydration point. The whole route was open in an open area where there was no shade at all, so the organizers installed two water sprays on the track to allow participants to freshen up while running.

Since this is the first time I have encountered this type of running, everything I knew about it - the more I run in an hour, the better. The first lap I had was "introductory", then gradually began to increase the pace. It was pretty hot, so I didn't go over the hydration points and sprays. What else to say here, the 12 full circles ran very monotonously. After 3 laps they become a kind of running between the hydration points, where you refresh and run further, and on the way, you also run under the sprays, which would be a bit refreshing. That was how the whole hour had gone.

Impression

Although I can't call myself a favorite lap, "Ltava Run Racing" was able to give new experiences and leave something positive and pleasant in the soul. The organization was at its height: everything was thought out, calculated and well organized, so that even the heat did not interfere. I liked the location and the route where the race took place: everything was very convenient, sometimes even imagining how it was won by go-karts. I highlight the support on the track separately: it motivates and pushes to run faster and overcome the next lap. The main thing I liked is the race format itself: the participants only have one hour and one kilometer circle. This format really turned out to be very interesting: when all you have is one hour. "Ltava Run Racing" presented not only new experience but also good impressions.
